The ProSweets FutureLab 2015 was a great experience – for the design students, who worked hard every day to develop new ideas, and for the visitors, who came, talked to the students, asked questions and contributed with their discussions and their votings.
Every day’s topic was based on suggestions from exhibitors of the ProSweets who thereby gained new insights and fresh ideas on their business. The exhibition showed brand new product concepts, some of theme apparently that convincing, that they were taken from our stand ….

Day 04: Final Products
ZERO GRAVITY – The foldable helmet
You’re working on construction areas? You’re a climber? You need a helmet from time to time and you’re annoyed by carrying your heavy helmet with you?
»Zero Gravity« provides the solution. Stuntmen use folded cardboards to jump off houses, so we just switched the direction! The foldable helmet is light, small and easy to handle. Wear it, and afterwards you can easily put it into your backpack when it is flat. And because it is made out of recycled cardboard, you can give it to the paper bin after use.
SEED a Dump – The natural way to resuscitate our nature
Helping out our environment by following your necessary nature is now possible with “SEED a Dump“. Take a »SEED a Dump« roll for your outdoor adventures, and plant a seed everytime you need to relieve yourself. Furthermore you save space with every usage, because the shrinking cardboard packaging allows you to carry it in the most convenient way. So go out, be active, and seed a dump.
SHOVE IT – no longer warm and steamy poo
We all love our pet. But let‘s face it, picking up their poop with a thin plastic bag is not our favourite part. If you are looking for a comfortable, not as icky way to do it, shove it is the way to go. Just push the sides and it will unfold all by itself. It even comes with a handle for easy carrying!
And if that is not enough to convince you, take a closer look. »Shove it« is made entirely out of cardboard, making it eco-friendly and easy to dispose of. No more warm and stinky poo, use »Shove it«, and your dreams come true.

One and a half hour before the final presentation: Everybody is busy building the final product, come up with a name and slogan. At 16.45 we will see what the students came up with.

The first presentation took place and the students presented their first ideas about today’s topic. The audience was invited to vote for the best ideas with us and the six most promising ideas got chosen.
Now it is time to evolve those ideas further on. You will find out at our next presentation two hours later, at 13.00.

Day 03: Final concepts
ONE CUP – push your flavour
Mix your favourite flavour out the different possibilities on the lid. To prepare the soup you have to open it, add hot water, close it again and then just press n the bubbles on top. After ten minutes your customized soup will be ready to eat! You can chose if you want your soup to be very spicy by adding all of chilli bubbles or if you want it to be very umami by adding all of the oil. It is so fast and so easy – everyone can do it.
Pop-Along – Wrap it, pop it, snack it!
Starting your day with a hot cuppa? Why not try it with more variety? With the new pop-along products, you can enjoy your morning cuppa with nice warm snacks. Not only does pop-along protects your hands from the raging-hot beverages, it also provides you with lovely warmed snacks to prepare you for the brutal winter mornings. Enjoy your drink as you pop-along the snacks – it’s the simple things in life.
Undercover – Your Secret Fragrance
Perfume in a single portion, just small enough to be part of your favourite accessory. Inconspicious and discreet. This perfume accessory can be used by male and female fashionables. Each of the pieces contains parfume capsules that open by pressure and releases their well smelling fragrance on your skin. This tiny perfume can be adjusted to your earrings, bow, cuff links and brooch.

Day 03: The new task is reveiled
Todays topic:
»push through principle«
Investigate the »push-through« principle, generate new packagings and products using some of those benefits.
First we carved out the benefits of push-through packagings and made a list of several parameters. Now the students have to think about new products which use some of the priciples of push-through packaging. And they will browse the ProSweets to see which materials could be interesting for the task.
The first ideas will be presented at 11:00.

Day 02: Final Concepts

DoubleTrouble - Have a coffee and …
Imagine you are in a rush and just quickly want to drink a coffee and have for example a cigarette or maybe some mints for afterwards. Or you are hung out and have to wake up early and rush to work, you want to drink a coffee and have some aspirin? We invented a cup which combines this products. The idea evolved out of the task to combine two different state of matter in one packaging. We started with smoke and coffee and developed the idea further. This cup of coffee could the offered in a wendingmashine on the trainstation. It is a quick solution for coffee lovers and practical people.
Miss Perfect – 1,2,3 – Perfect, as can be!
The “Miss-Perfect-Neckless“ and “Miss-Perfect-Bracelet“ are creative solutions for carring the “must haves“ of an attractive woman: It includes a refreshing breathe spray, an aromatic perfume and brand new lipstick-papers. With this handy accessory a woman doesn‘t need to search in her bag … She just puts on her neckless or bracelet, is dressed gorgeously and takes everything necessary with her!

Day 01: Final Concepts
Made to measure pasta
Made to measure pasta provides you with everything you need for a perfect pasta dish. All the ingredients are perfectly measured for two servings, so that there is neither need for long ingredient searches in the super market nor any waste of food. It comes in an easy to handle, innovative group packaging system, that will not only make cooking, but even the grocery shopping a delight for each chef.
Threesome
Are you in the mood for something specific to eat, but cooking is not your favourite thing in the world?
Have an inexpensive alternative by choosing the „threesome“ at your local grocery store. Is it very basic, you have three things you have to choose. Take the Carry-cardboard first, there you have a circle, a sqare and the triangle shaped hole. Then you can choose the fitting boxes and put them in the holes. Ready! The base for your recipe is the sqare. The addition is the circle and the topping or the extra seasoning is the triangle. With this you can play around and allways be sure that your dish will taste great. If you want to make a cake you can choose e.g. chocolate as the base-dough. Then strawberries for the filling and then white chocolate for the topping. After you have carried the „threesome“ at home you can fold the Carry-cardboard and reuse it the next time. Enjoy!

After three and a half hour of working, our last presentation for today took place. The three groups presented their final product, showing the concept via model and an explanatory poster.
This was a nice first day at the ProSweets 2015. We hope to see you around again tomorrow!

From 11.00 am until 1.00 pm the students had to come up with the final purpose, shade and layout of the chosen two idea.Then the next public presentation took place and the final concept was picked out.

Day 01: »Paper in new shapes«
Todays topic: »Paper in new shades«
It is inspired by the diffrend shaped paper cans by the company Optima.
After a short briefing in the morning the students set up in small groups to work on first ideas.
First Presentation:
At 11.00 am. each student shortly presented 5 ideas about todays topic. After that each group member had 3 points to vote for the most interesting concept, to be developed further on.Each group got 2 ideas to work on again
